TUESDAY IS GIVING TUESDAY. PLEASE GIVE A DONATION AND/OR JOIN/RENEW AS A MEMBER TODAY! SHOW YOUR SUPPORT FOR EFA PROGRAMS FOR 2020.
2019 has been a wonderful year for Encinitas Friends of the Arts as we were able to offer exciting and wonderful visual and performing arts performances.
Our wildly successful Passport to the Arts series! EFA has hosted 8 cultural celebrations with outstanding visual and performing artists from all over Southern California, transporting guests to magical places: Persia, India, Cuba, Africa, France, and the Silk Road. And the 2019 Passport to Dance even was enthusiastically received by the community featuring dances from China, Bali, Spain, Ireland, and modern dance by Litvak Dance Company. Next year, we take you to Italy!
Los Angeles Balalaika Orchestra Concert- We presented a concert featuring the internationally renowned Los Angeles Balalaika Orchestra on Saturday, March 2 which has been Hailed by the Los Angeles Times as, “Musically superb,” the orchestra of 40 talented musicians plays traditional East European folk instruments such as the balalaika, domra, bayan, and gusli. We invite you to sponsor this event as we plan to invite them to perform for us in 2020.
Encinitas Dia de los Muertos Celebration! An amazing family event that honors our Latino community. On Oct. 26, 4,800+ people from throughout San Diego County experienced the Day of the Dead—Mariachi and Ballet Folklorico entertainment, an Ofrenda, art-making workshops, art demo’s, lowrider car show, and student art—FREE!
Ballet Folklorico de San Dieguito! Our dance education program for 30 children and youth that teaches the festive dances of Mexico, taught by Nadia Arambula continues to thrive.
The world-renowned iPalpiti Festival! Once again, in partnership with City of Encinitas Division for the Arts we hosted iPalpiti Festival bringing virtuoso musicians from other countries to perform in Encinitas.
A Grand Piano for the Encinitas Community and Senior Center! We presented a check for a $30,000 to the City of Encinitas toward a purchase of 9’ concert grand piano to present first-rate concerts for audiences of up to 500 people. A dedication concert will be scheduled within the next few weeks. We wish to thank all our donors and those who purchase piano keys as part of the 88 Keys Fundraising campaign.
Student Leadership Council! To mentor young advocates for the arts and foster our next generation of artists—for high school age youth.
Be Part of Something Special! We have initiated our fundraising campaign to purchase Orpheus a a soaring 22’ tall kinetic sculpture made from titanium and stainless steel which is installed at the corner of K Street and Coast Hwy 101 in downtown Encinitas and donate it to the city for all to enjoy. We need to raise another $30,000 to complete the purchase of this exceptional artwork. We invite you to be a part of this unique opportunity in support of arts and culture!
PLEASE DONATE TODAY! THANK YOU.
