Encinitas Day of the Dead Festival, It Takes a Village!
The 20 member organizing committee for Encinitas Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is hard at work planning the 6th annual free event, set for Saturday, October 26, from 12-4pm, at the Encinitas Community Center (1140 Oakcrest Park Drive). This year, 4,500 people are expected to attend the celebration of Latino culture with 4 hours of awesome Folklorico and Mariachi performances, art-making workshops, low rider car show, community Ofrenda, artist demos, opportunity drawings (including laptops!), food trucks and more. Pictured are representatives from Encinitas Friends of the Arts, Mano a Mano Foundation, San Dieguito Art Guild, San Dieguito Academy, San Diego County Office of Education, San Dieguito Alliance for Drug Free Youth and the City.
